• In collaboration with Bob Edgar and Gene Myers, we have generated de novo TE predictions using PILER-DF in other sequenced insects. The non-redundant Release 5 version of the D. melanogaster genome is now available from the DHGP and BDGP. We are currently annotating this sequence and expect the heterochromatin annotations to be completed by early summer 2006.
